Public Transit Infrastructure

The function of Public Transit Infrastructure is to move large volumes of passengers by rail, bus and rapid transit. At SRM Associates, we take a leading role in the planning, design and implementation of public transit projects for both Provincial (GO/Metrolinx) and Regional governments. Our extensive experience includes environmental assessments, traffic impact studies to assess site functionality and traffic flow optimization, rail platform expansions, parking lot rehabilitation and expansion, bus stop improvements for accessibility, new parking lots, bus loops and bus loop rehabilitation, bus bays, acceleration ramps, and bus facility upgrades.

We have completed feasibility studies for existing GO facilities, including multi-level parking structures, train stations, bus terminals, garage and maintenance facilities, as well as rail corridor infrastructure and office space. These projects are typically multi-disciplined, requiring in-depth knowledge and experience in the areas of architectural, civil, electrical, mechanical and structural design.
