SRM Associates - History

Municipal services have long since been the backbone for creating healthy and safe communities around us. As our aging infrastructures began to call for fine tuning over the last few decades, The Sernas Group Inc. understood this need early on, and decided to create a specialized Business Unit which could provide superior service in all facets of municipal service requirements. In 1999, SRM Associates was established to serve the specialized needs of these municipalities and other public sector clients within Ontario. With a team of highly skilled and knowledgeable staff, this small group went on to provide their expertise in an array of areas, and over the last 11 years have since successfully completed hundreds of projects, which continue to maintain their integrity over these many years.

In 2008, Dale Dionne, P.ENG., MBA, PMP, and PRINCIPAL, took on the role of General Manager, and has continued to lead the group to expand its services to meet the high demands of the Municipal sector within southern Ontario including Durham, York, and GTA areas. Today, Mr. Dionne’s team has grown to over 38 staff, made up of highly qualified individuals who are exceptionally skilled at what they do in their respective areas of practice. To better suit the needs of its clients, the SRM Associates Business Unit has devised five specific areas of practice which encompass: Municipal Engineering; Environmental Assessments; Transportation Structures; Transit Planning and Engineering; Roundabouts. Amongst these areas of practice, each has a detailed roster of specific services which focuses primarily on providing innovative solutions for our clients’ unique needs; thus, striving to ensure the Client’s Ultimate Satisfaction.

To date, the parent company, The Sernas Group Inc., has three operating offices within Ontario located in Whitby, Mississauga and Richmond Hill. The SRM Associates Team has staff located within all three offices. By having a “triangular network” of offices, and a multi disciplined team of specialists, we have the ability to have our teams positioned to have resources available for assignments within the various markets we service.

One thing that remains consistent throughout our History here at The Sernas Group, is that we truly appreciate all our clients’ partnerships over these many years. Those partnerships have helped to propel our brand and reputation to new heights in the way of being known as the consultants of choice, who strive to be the best at what they do – provide outstanding serviceability, project management and successful deliverables.
