Established as a specialized Business Unit within The Sernas Group Inc., our Nexgen Utilities team has been designing power and lighting distribution systems for over 10 years.
We offer a proven expertise in all aspects of Utility Infrastructure Design ranging from new installations, rehabilitations to relocations. The types of Engineering we focus on include Power Systems; Telecommunications; Cable TV; Gas; and Illumination and Traffic Controls. In addition, we assist our Clients in identifying Utility Service Providers; confirm availability of services for sites; evaluate terms of servicing; and coordinate the relocation of existing facilities. Our projects range from new residential / commercial / industrial subdivisions; big box retail complexes, to cable replacement assignments across Ontario.
Our client roster ranges from a variety of Local Distribution Companies, up to Major Land Developers and Multi-National Retailers. They include both the Private and Public sector areas. Our professional team includes engineers, project managers, technologists and technicians, with a proven understanding in all areas of Utility Infrastructure Design; plus, being at the forefront of current new technologies. We are well versed in the current lighting standards for all municipalities within Southern Ontario, as well as knowledgeable in most recent Green Technologies for area lighting.
To better suit the needs of our clients, our Nexgen Utilities Business Unit has devised five specific areas of practice which encompass: Utility Infrastructure Engineering; Illumination Engineering; Traffic Signalization Engineering; Utility Rehabilitation Engineering; and Utility Inspection and Contract Administration.
