Approach Lighting Design
Nexgen Utilities can provide approach lighting design and construction administration services for this type of installation. This design is also known as partial illumination, and conduit/ handwell system design. This design prepares the intersection for future installation of the traffic signalization system. Approach lighting on roadways is required for a fully signalized and illuminated intersection to allow the eye to adjust from no light to full light. Approach lights are typically spaced closer together the closer you get to the intersection, thus allowing your eye time to adjust to the light levels.
