Graduates
At The Sernas Group, we appreciate the fresh perspective, energy and enthusiasm new graduates bring to their work. For this reason, it is our goal to hire recent graduates in the areas of Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Land Development Planning, Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering, Geomorphology and GIS.
We do have a program specific to Civil Engineering graduates. Our Civil EITs go through a more structured training program that gives them exposure to a variety of fields within our civil practice, and ideally in both the private and public sector. An EIT will start as a Construction Inspector in the field for the first two construction seasons, and in the winter months during the first two years rotate through Water Resources, Design and/or Contracts. We firmly believe that this wide exposure will give the EITs a chance to experience different areas and help with future career decisions, and also helps the company by having well-rounded staff.
All Graduates are encouraged to let us know of their areas of interest and if the opportunity is available, we will aim to assist them in gaining experience in those areas.
We begin our graduate hiring process in January and February each year by visiting university and college career fairs and by posting job opportunities with the schools.
