Travel Demand Forecasting
Travel demand forecasting is a crucial step in the traffic impact assessment stage of any transportation study. Travel demand forecasting is the detailed process of estimating the number of trips generated by a specific combination of land uses, and assigning those trips to the existing and/or planned future transportation network. Transportation forecasting traditionally follows the sequential four-step model or Urban Transportation Planning (UTP) procedure that includes trip generation, trip distribution, mode choice and route assignment. In addition to having expertise in the use of de-facto standard data sources in the travel demand forecasting field, including the ITE Trip Generation Manual and the Transportation Tomorrow Survey data set, Transtech also maintains an extensive in-house database of trip generation surveys, parking demand surveys and market studies. Our expertise and knowledge in the field of travel demand forecasting and our accumulated wealth of travel demand data sources provides us with the capability of delivering well documented and effective transportation studies to our clientele.
