Road Corridor / Avenue Studies
In order to maintain vibrant, livable, and sustainable communities, it is important to study the influences of changes to road corridors that have (or are desired to have) focused areas of development. Estimating and balancing the site access needs of the local community, with the greater transportation needs of the traveling public, can be challenging given their often-times contrary objectives. Solutions are found through the use of comprehensive traffic modeling tools and operational assessments of corridor traffic flows in combination with local land use planning objectives and site access requirements. Generally, these studies are quite iterative, with transportation needs often influencing the ultimate development parameters, and as a result are an invaluable tool to help guide local land use planning decisions.
